About Tracey

Hello! My name is Tracey Eelkema. I am a left-handed crochet designer, who has been crocheting for over 32 years. My specialty is adorable hats and accessories for children.

I am a proud Canadian, who was born and raised on the West Coast of British Columbia, near Vancouver. I moved to Saskatchewan in 2004, and have called the Prairies home ever since. I have a wonderful, supportive husband who also happens to be my hero, two beautiful daughters and two adorable grandddaughters.

I have this funky way I like to create... Chaos! But I like to think the end result is worth the pondering and waiting for the perfect final touch to each individual project! I always have at least 5 - 10 creations in progress.

I do not produce a high volume of items. My objective is to produce a high quality, beautiful product. My hats are custom designed to fit you perfectly.

All my creations are "Haute Couture" - meaning high end. My supplies are of excellent quality, including yarns, threads, ribbon, beads, embellishments, closures and other findings. All finishing touches are hand-sewn on. I never use glue on my hats! My work is heirloom quality, with the utmost attention to detail, and it shows. I ensure that all my creations are created, and kept, in optimum condition for delivery to their new owner.

In the past, I have created and sold OOAK (one of a kind) crocheted fashions and accessories for miniature dolls. The smallest doll that I have crocheted for is 1" inch tall! Each fashion has been born from my own imagination. Although I do have a particular technique when creating my doll fashions, nothing I create is ever exact in it's likeness to anything else I've created. My creations can be found in private collections throughout Canada, the USA and in Australia. Visit my gallery to check some of them out.

I've sold on Ebay at http://myworld.ebay.com/traceyweb as well as at www.krazy4kellies.com, which has now evolved into Tracey's Boutique.

Occasionally, I crochet other keepsakes and treasures, such as doilies and miniature bears.

I do accept commissions, but am currently booked until the Winter of 2011. If you have a special project, email me for the status of my bookings.

I'm doing what I love; creating things for people who seek a handcrafted work of art. It is my bliss!
